This week is the start of the Rochester Fringe Festival on Tuesday, which brings a ton of live music and entertainment across the city. There are also great touring bands coming in this week, including synth/rock L’Eclair and Spaceface with locals Drippers at the Bug Jar on Tuesday, Colorado rockers The Velveteers on Saturday, Pusha T (!) and pop star Rickey Montgomary.
September! What's up! On Wednesday, all-female jazz band the Fallopian Grooves hit Abilene. Our friends Coral Moons and The Sideways play The Club at Waterstreet and Oklahoma rockers Skating Polly play Bug Jar on Thursday. On Friday, don't miss Ghanaian drum + dance outfit Womba Africa on Friday at LUX, and The Rockin' Rochester fest kicks off at Abilene with Barrence Whitfield! The UUU Gallery also has a killer show with Philip "Doc" Martin and Phylicia Rae playing jazz, and Sunday we can't wait to see Service and Pomelo at Bug Jar.
It's the last week of August! It's Labor Day weekend! There are a ton of great shows this week, especially on Wednesday with The Gateswingers Big Band at Lovin' Cup playing for FREE - also get your dancin' shoes on for Ruby Shooz who is playing their rock n' roll jams at Ontario Beach Park. On Thursday, a great Bug Jar line up with Aweful Kanawful and Nervous Ticket and the Zipper Lips. We have LIVE EMO NIGHT on Friday, and Public Water Supply at Iron Smoke Distillery.
